We have four AI products live in market in regulated Australian domains. The work is building systems real people depend on — and being there when they break, which is where the learning is.
The whole problem, not a ticket
Small team, so you'll see a use case from the first conversation with a client through to the thing running in production. If you like being handed a spec and left alone, this won't suit you.
AI where being wrong has consequences
Tax, payroll, education. Guardrails, evaluation and human oversight aren't a slide here — they're the engineering, and they're genuinely hard. It's the most interesting corner of the field.

AI / LLM engineer
RAG, agents, evaluation harnesses, prompt and context engineering, model integration. Python and/or TypeScript.
Full-stack product engineer
The application around the model. Next.js, TypeScript, Postgres, and an eye for the interface a person actually has to use.
Data / MLOps engineer
Pipelines, dbt, Airflow, warehouse modelling, deployment and monitoring on AWS, Azure or GCP.
Forward-deployed engineer
Engineer who is happy in front of a client — finds the real problem by sitting next to it, then ships the fix.
AI consultant / solution architect
Translates between a business problem and a system design, and can hold a room of executives without hand-waving.
Responsible AI & governance
Risk assessment, ISO 42001, the Privacy Act automated-decision rules, guardrail and audit design.

Do you have open positions right now?
Not always, and we won't pretend otherwise. This is an expression-of-interest register rather than a list of live vacancies. We're a small Australian AI company that hires against real requirements as they arrive — so we keep every submission on file and come back to people when the work matches what they do.
What kinds of people are you interested in hearing from?
AI and LLM engineers, full-stack product engineers, data and MLOps engineers, forward-deployed engineers, AI consultants and solution architects, and people who work in responsible AI and governance. If you do something adjacent that you think we're missing, tell us — the form has a free-text field for exactly that.
Do I need commercial AI experience?
No. We care much more about what you've actually built and whether you can reason about why it worked. Strong engineers who have taught themselves the AI side, and specialists from adjacent fields like data engineering or security, are genuinely welcome. What doesn't land well is a list of frameworks with nothing shipped behind it.
Is the work remote, hybrid or in the office?
Our office is in Surry Hills, Sydney, and some client work is on site across greater Sydney. Beyond that we're flexible — hybrid or fully remote from anywhere in Australia. We care where the work lands, not where you were sitting while you did it.
Do you sponsor visas or hire outside Australia?
We are an Australian company and our engagements run in Australian hours, so we're focused on people with existing rights to work in Australia. The form asks about work rights so we know where you stand — we won't waste your time if it isn't something we can support.
Do you take contractors and part-time people?
Yes. Some of our work suits a contract or part-time arrangement, particularly for specialists. Say what you're after on the form and we'll be straight with you about whether it's a shape we can use.
What happens to the information I submit?
It goes to our team inbox and is used only to consider you for work with us. We don't sell it, share it with third parties or feed it into any model. Ask us to delete it at any time by emailing hello@evolveminds.com.au and we will. We handle it under the Australian Privacy Principles, the same way we handle client data.
